Here she is at the starting line.
I have some pictures of her during the race but the camera wasn't on the right setting, so I will have to go do some editing to get them viewable. But here she is after the race.
She was SOOO tired. But she finished! I am so proud of her!
Here's a picture of the kids with Papa. He came all the way out there to support Shelby & Adam. He even took some pictures during the race of both of them so I could take care of the little ones.
Here's Adam waving at us before his race started.
They were supposed to run about 3 miles but because of the rain they had to reroute them due to the mud. They ended up running only a mile. CAKE!
The biking portion was 13 miles. Adam borrowed a friend's road bike. It had a spedometer that said he maintained a speed around 22 miles an hour. Not too bad...
The swim was 400 meters & nearly did him in. :) He said his arms were like dead weights when he got in, but he held up & did a great job.
He says it was a good experience, but he'd stick to his adventure racing, which is more demanding mentally & exhausting physically, but a lot more fun. Here he is after the race.
They both really enjoyed the experience. Don't they look happy to be done?
We all went home and took naps to rest up for the turkey consumption at Grandma & Grandpa Bear's.
We got to stop by the hospital to see my new niece too! Unfortunately for the rest of my family, I was the only one allowed to go in & see her cuz I didn't have the sniffles. :) See the post about her for more info...
